Every summer for over 16 years the mountain of Montjuïc is converted into an outdoor cinema in order to offer film lovers the chance to enjoy the seventh art at the Fossat de Santa Eulàlia, at Montjuic Castle.

This summer from 29th June to 3rd August you can see the best of the latest and not-so latest films here at the Castle, which offers a magnificent backdrop steeped in history and magic.

The evening doesn’t just include enjoying a great movie in the open air; you can also dance the night away to the sounds of live music to round off the experience. Tickets for the sessions can be bought from the Sala Montjuïc website.

The venue can be reached by car, motorbike or bicycle, and free parking is available at the designated areas around the castle. Nevertheless, public transport is the best option, with a free bus shuttle service from Plaça d’Espanya, departing from a point between Avinguda de Reina Maria Cristina and Avinguda del Paral·lel (the exact location of the bus stop may vary according to traffic arrangements to and from Mount Montjuïc.

Spectators to the Sala Montjuïc may take along their own food and refreshments, and there is also a bar and restaurant. Drinks available include soft drinks, water, lager, fruit juices and wine (local D.O. Catalunya red, white and rosé), and all the food served at the Sala Montjuïc bar is ecological.
